How I Work
Change and progress are messy!
While you need to establish specific goals, develop and complete action plans, you achieve better long-term results by working inside-out and outside-in.
Inside-Out: Explore, Reflect, Experiment
By consciously creating a higher level of self-awareness, you empower important small internal shifts that release limiting self-beliefs and unproductive thought patterns to make way for more effective actions.
Outside-In: Experiment, Gather Feedback, Reflect, Explore
By consciously practicing small, “low-cost”, non-threatening action steps, you gain new information that challenges existing thought patterns and beliefs. This feedback, in turn, facilitates greater self-awareness.
Which comes first, clarity or action?
Action adds feedback to your system. Clarity alone does not. By working from both ends, you get better results.
Together we identify how to do more of what works.
Once the process is in place, you spiral upwards in a positive, dynamic and self-renewing cycle.
We both bring to the partnership:
• positive perseverance to freely experiment, observe, reflect, and fine-tune your goals.
• flexibility to change destination, if it serves you better.
• intense curiosity about your potential.
• intrepid and honest exploration to find inner truths.
• hard-nosed critical analysis.
– all dressed with lightness, grace and joy.
My coaching approach is informed by a variety of evidence-based practices and theories including: positive psychology, appreciative inquiry, solution-focus approach, systems and complexity theories, adult development theories and the exciting new applications of neuroscience linking the workings of the brain with those of the mind. I consciously take action every day to add new information to my system – that leads to greater clarity on how to best help you.
